Day 4  at  Mercedes Benz Fashion Week had Tara O’keefe attending the Suboo show, which meant bringing some sunshine to the previous day’s look (monochrome).

 I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a jumpsuit. When I was selecting options for Tara’s fashion week events, I had to get this jumpsuit by Unspoken on her. Whilst striking in colour, it also has a drop v-back and cuts just under the bust - ensuring a longer line for Tara’s small frame.

The sometimes referred “onesie” can make you look longer and is always a head turner. However, you want that to be for the right reasons. It can also make you appear wider if you don’t choose the right shape for you. Cuts such as this one are a safe option as inevitably it will make your legs appear longer - and let’s be honest, us shorter girls love that!

Tara O’keefe attended Watson X Watson during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, so it was only fitting that I wanted Tara to sport a look that was on trend with the designer and the fashionable crowd. Most of you know I’m going through a monochrome phase (aka. black and white) .

Excuse the selfies, I had jetted back to Melbourne by this stage so I left it to Tara to showcase her look.

Tara O’keefe, Director of all things wedding, at De La Mod and wife of Sydney Swan’s Ryan O’keefe, took a punt on me to style her for the BMW Doncaster Day at Sydney’s new Royal Randwick Racecourse this past Saturday. Tara’s style is naturally quite fashion forward and even though the weather forecast for the day wasn’t very inspiring, cold and showers, she was prepared to step it up, all in the name of fashion.

I had fallen in love with this stunning Nicola Finetti dress during the Myer Autumn/Winter Launch a few weeks ago. With a touch of monochrome and the sophistication of a peplum and open back, it was truly perfection for the big race day ahead. The 2013 Autumn/Winter col­lec­tion from Nicola Finetti is feast for the eyes with mas­ter­ful clashes of pat­terns, colours, tex­tures and shapes. As always, the col­lec­tion cel­e­brates the female form by bal­anc­ing con­trasts like struc­ture that also seem to have ele­ments of grace and softness.

To complement the dress, I opted for these gorgeous and on trend black court booties from Kookai’s current Autumn/Winter collection and a contrasting white clutch from Peeptoe to appeal to Tara’s personal style. No race wear outfit is complete without a fabulous fascinator and Sydney milliner Viktoria Novak’s Gatsby inspired embellished headband gave the outfit a vintage look, with a modern direction.

For ladies day at Flemington, the Myer Marquee was themed as ‘The Florist’ and host to a great mix of Myer Ambassadors, Myer Designers and celebrities. I was lucky enough to attend and whilst there I ran into some of my favorite people, both old friends and new, we all had one thing in common - a love of fashion.

Myer was definitely the place to be this Spring Racing Carnival, it’s all in the finer details. With Oaks Day being about true signature style, I decided to get my “neon on” in this orange Aqua by Aqua backless dress - I love a great online purchase. I paired it with some veiling from Lincraft for something different, Tony Bianco heels and Colette clutch.

Accompanied by my partners in crime, Lynette & Tara and with the help of delicious cocktails it was time to hit the dancefloor. It was AMAZE with a live acoustic singer setting the room into a disco spin - litterally.

After 6pm, a quick change of outfit for Lynette who slipped on a mauve Talulah dress, with a pair of earrings from Mouche and it was off to the Laurent Perrier Winners Circle Party at THE DECK, Circa.

Traditionally known as ‘Ladies Day’ amongst racegoers, Crown Oaks Day is the biggest style event of the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Whilst famously known as the day women take the opportunity to express their ‘signature style.

It was also my time to ensure three fabulous women, model Sophie Van Den Akker and Sydney Swans leading ladies, Tara O’keefe and TV Presenter Lynette Bolton put their best heels forward.

Trackside brights was my take on Melbourne Cup Day, leaving the Derby Day’s chic black and white behind (well…almost).

My clients and good friends Lynette & Tara invited myself and my husband Liam to Lavazza’s lavish and fun marquee on Melbourne Cup Day. I thought it appropriate to get in neon theme. I test drove my latest purchase; a neon backless dress by Aqua and accessorised with heels by Tony Bianco, Morgan & Taylor fascinator @ Myer, Collette clutch and Stella Nemiro jewellery

Lynette was presenting for Channel 7 from the Lavazza marquee, so I wanted to ensure she made a bold statement. I didn’t need to look much further than a fabulous headpiece by Viktoria Novak, such an exquisite piece, that I built her entire look around it. So I put Lynette in a  black and white sketch striped top by johnny, Wayne Cooper pencil skirt, Forever New neon clutch, ring by Stella Nemiro and heels by Christian Louboutin.

Tara’s small frame lends itself to most looks. So when I first laid eyes on an orange Diane Von Furstenberg dress from the AW13 collection, I knew the colour would look amaze on her. I accessorised with my favourite Viktoria Novak millinery, Sass & Bide belt, Tony Bianco gold snake heels and Peeptoe clutch and earrings.

Highlights of my day: Having fun with my husband Liam and the girls, spending time in the Lexus marquee with the beautiful Rose Byrne, running into my soon to be wed girlfriend Mietta and her fiancee Brent and meeting lovely couple Ashley and Robert. Too much fun!

Sydney Swan girls Tara O’keefe and Lynette Bolton entertained me for what was a fun filled Derby Day (and Spring Carnival) in the Birdcage at Flemington. Staying traditional in black and white, I wanted to ensure that the best friends each had a distinct but different look, that ultimately suited their personalities.

The AFL Grand Final between the Sydney Swans and Hawthorn was a thriller last Saturday to say the least. Fortunately for my clients, Lynette Bolton and Tara O’Keefe, wives of Jude and Norm Smith Medallist Ryan, the Swans proved too hard to beat.

The girls celebrated their win at the official cocktail function for the Sydney Swans that night. Fashion winners they were indeed, both dressed in Unspoken  a fabulous label I’ve only recently discovered. And FYI, I have been missing out, devine is an understatement.

Famed restauranter Fraser Short opened his long-awaited redevelopment of the Brooklyn Hotel at 225 George Street in the city. The Morrison Bar and Oyster Room has claims on a new record: its kitchen surely has more former head chefs per square metre than any other Sydney restaurant.

Presenter and my beautiful client Lynette Bolton (pictured with the equally beautiful Tara O’Keefe) was there to celebrate. We thought a little black dress by Natasha Gan with a choker necklace by Divawas the right choice and appropriate for the balmy Sydney evening.
