Erin Maxwell. A MYER moment in Leroy Nguyen





This past Thursday, myself and some of my fellow Melbourne fashion friends made our way to Sydney to preview the Myer Spring/Summer 2014 collection. What does one wear to one of the biggest fashion events of the season? More on that later.

Always looking to challenge myself and my work, I was lucky to work with Erin Maxwell, of fashion blog LOVE SHOP SHARE. I’ve followed Erin’s blog as a consumer of fashion since it’s inception in 2011, searching for inspiration for my next purchase with Erin’s focus very much on drawing on international trends and making them her own, mixing a flavour of her favourite Australian brands with those that inspire her overseas.  Always willing to step it up in the fashion stakes, I had a lot of fun collaborating with Erin on this look.

We didn’t need to look much further than designer Leroy Nguyen. Leroy Nguyen first caught my eye at the 2012 TAFE Fashion Design Studio graduate show with his fresh take on sculptural shapes and digital printing. I’ve been obsessed with his designs ever since.

His 2013/14 Spring Summer Collection, The Candy Shop debuted as part of The Innovators show in May at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Inspired by the colourful kaleidoscope of sweets and Willy Wonka fare, the collection unveiled twelve looks comprising Nguyen’s signature design aesthetic, two hero custom digital prints, 26 individual pieces and the introduction of swimwear to the label. The ‘Scuba’ navy sculptured dress with lime lining, as worn by Erin, was my absolute favourite piece in the collection and lucky for me - Erin loved it too!

We styled it with delicate gold Tony Bianco heels and Peeptoe Shoes ‘Lady Sunset’ clutch to draw out the lime accent’s in the lining.

Myer Miss Shop Cosmetics. Sugar & Spice, & all things (Nice) NEON


I was invited to preview the launch of Miss Shop’s Cosmetic Range at Myer Melbourne last week. The inspired and committed Tanya Leivers, Category Buyer/Product Developer of the brand, was on hand to talk me through what I can only describe as cosmetics for the girl who loves make up, or the busy working girl on the run. Fortunately, I fall into both categories.
