When Nadia met Maticevski

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

NADIA COPPOLINO, driving force behind fashion blog Chronicles of Nadia, has us all hot and bloggered each week with a style that redefines sleek and stylish. Wearing everything from super-structured pieces to punchy prints, Nadia’s loyalty to clean, eye-catching lines is what makes her outfits so enticing. Chances are (if you’re fashion savvy in social media) you’ve seen her photos floating around, but what you may not know about this softly spoken glamour girl is that whilst her blog is new on the fashion scene, Nadia has worked in the fashion industry in brand, advertising and marketing for a number of years, enabling her to provide much inspiration to her very engaged followers

So when we decided to collaborate for the recent Myer Spring/Summer 14 launch in Sydney, my instant thought was to put a style out there that hadn’t been seen before, challenging both of us to step outside the square – fortunately for me, Nadia was completely on board. So where does one go when one wishes to make a statement for all the right reasons?…

I looked no further than designer Toni Maticevski. Since the launch of  his label in 1999, Toni Maticevski’s drive and vision has seen the talented designer gracefully continue to achieve and evolve the Maticevski brand, which in reward has earned him the role as one of the most successful and talented designers to rein from Australia. As Toni grew as a designer and respected creative figure within the world of Fashion and Art, so did the Maticevski brand.  Debuting his first collection show to a standing ovation at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Sydney in 2002, Maticevski has gone on to present his collections in Paris, London and New York Fashion Weeks. The last 13 years has seen Toni the Creator and Director of MATICEVSKI Pty. Ltd., which houses and successfully operates three collections: Maticevski Ready-To-Wear, Maticevski Collection and Maticevski Bridal.

The Maticevski 2014 Resort collection took my breath away during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week earlier this year. So for Nadia and I to be able to work with these pieces of art, was genuinely a privilege. A decidedly elegant collection with a sporty finish, the collection features soft rounded hemlines that are anchored with crinoline to add volume to the abstract rounded circle shapes. That the final look was monochrome, was an added bonus. Most of you know I can’t get enough of the trend at the moment.

Styled with clutch and shoes from Peeptoe, also available at Myer

Nadia’s look will be available for purchase from October/November 2013 at Myer and  Toni Maticevski stockists around the country.

Baby, Baby and Rachel Zoe at Myer

In coming out and sharing the news with you that I am four months pregnant, there could not have been a more relevant designer for me to ‘out myself’ in, than in this amazing silk shirt from the new Rachel Zoe collection, now available exclusively at Myer.

For as long as I can remember, and well before the Rachel Zoe Project, Rachel’s sense of business and influence in the fashion industry changed the way a generation of young Hollywood dressed. Does everyone remember Nicole Ritchie before she had Rachel as her stylist? Rachel’s fame, her experience as a stylist and magazine editor combined with her fashion credibility makes for a very exciting collection that is sure to appeal to many.

Myer securing the Rachel Zoe collection is a real coup for the department store, as her authority and influence as the top go-to-stylist in Hollywood is sure to resonate with customers. For me, I’ll be honest, there may be a little hero worship going on. Rachel’s critical eye and expert tailoring is evident in every facet of the collection – from colour and silhouette to fine detailing . Her clever ability to mix and match key pieces in a variety of new ways means it’s easy to match with items from your existing wardrobe – something as a stylist I swear by.

Now, thanks to Myer, we can all have a little piece of Rachel Zoe. Accessible luxury; tailored, classic and timeless pieces, effortless and easy, on-trend, functional and comfortable; chic and fashionable; ageless; feminie and polished; glamorous are the hallmarks of the Rachel Zoe Collection. Have I used enough adjectives?

It genuinely is a beautiful and wearable collection. And, the pleasant surprise for consumers is that the price points are within reach, with most pieces ranging from $220.00 to $480.00. The more exquisite pieces, such as leather jackets, are priced at $750.00 plus. With celebrity fans including Jennifer Lopez, Reece Witherspoon, Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian, I am more than happy to add myself to the list of Austrlalian devotees.

AW13 Myer International Designer Collections Preview

I was lucky enough to preview the new International Autumn/Winter 2013 Collections at Myer recently and whilst we may not all, myself included, be able to get our hands on every delicious item, it didn’t make the experience any less exciting.

Like a kid in a candy store, I pulled from the racks the best of the new season, Balmain, Givenchy, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s The Row, Isabel Marant, Roland Mouret, McQ Alexander McQueen’s embellished knits, to name a few. And, I was pleased to preview the latest additions to the Myer family, Kenzo, Alberta Ferretti, Peter Pilotto and Jil Sander Navy.

With fabulous fashion, comes sensational accessories and there was no shortage of those either. With the Balmain belts encased in the glass cabinet, I took the time to play dress ups with scarves by Moschino and Emilo Pucci and jewels by Sonia by Sonia Rykiel.

My favourites from the preview; Givenchy leather dress, Balmain Jacket, The Row leather vest and the Vanessa Bruno Jacket/Vest/ Dress - I am positive I could justify the cost per wear!

And as if it wasn’t fun enough, it has to be said, the staff at Myer take customer service to an entire new level, showcasing the designs, talking through the detail, answering questions and offering me a return visit, even if it’s just to browse! It’s the type of service that reminds you that an in-store experience, can be just as exhilirating as the purchase we all frequently make nowdays át the click of a button online.

Do yourself a fashionable favour and visit Myer Melbourne and Sydney City today and get your hands on the new seasons must haves.

MYER Spring/Summer 2012-13. OUT OF AFRICA

Myer’s Spring Summer campaign takes us on an adventure to the land of light and colour with warm sunsets, vibrant and exotic animals and a culture rich in pattern and print that support the dominant theme of colour this Spring Summer 2012/13 season.

Where did Myer Ambassadors Jennifer Hawkins, Jessica Hart and Kris Smith transport to, to accomplish such a task? Epic South Africa.

Myer has delivered a multiude of must haves for the season with the campaign showcasing some of my favourite Australian designers. My personal wardrobe crushes include; Ellery’s pastel geometric mini dress, sass & bide’s galactic silver mini dress and Magdalena Velevska’s citrus neon circle dress- to name but a few.

Thinking Pink before Spring Carnival

For the like minded fashionistas amongst us, who who doesn’t love Spring Racing in Melbourne? A winning race day look, and adding your own flair and personality to the party, is all apart of a fun day at the races.

So when the McGrath Foundation contacted me about donating my time to style and co-present with The Circle’s Emily Power, for their inaugural High Tea @ Myer Mural Hall, how could I say no? Did I mention we had to put 16 Spring Racing looks (that’s millinery too!) together in two hours on two models and present them to 450 women drinking champagne and eating cake? Suffice to say, whilst an exciting challenge, the day was a success and very rewarding, with the models and my good friend Kate of Forever New, working tirelessly behind the scenes.  All Australian designer Myer. Big thank you to all involved!

Last night I was fortunate enough to attend the Sass & Bide launch at Myer in Melbourne. The event’s star guests, Sarah Jane-Clarke & Heidi Middleton made a grand entrance, showcasing their spectacular Spring/Summer Collection.

Sass & Bide has definitely evolved this season, with the duo’s new collection featuring bold prints, fringing and eye-popping colour. The embellishments still remain, but there is a new sensation brewing - with metallic accessories to match! The rose gold belt is a must have purchase for the season…

Two days earlier, Myer welcomed the label to their staple of Australian and International designers in their Sydney CBD store, with a who’s who of the Sydney social circuit in attendance. I styled my gorgeous clients Lynette Bolton & Tara O’Keefe, wives of AFL Sydney Swans stars Jude Bolton  & Ryan O’Keefe, who were very excited to be the first to view the new collection.

Lynette wears SS11 Manning Cartell Felucca Maxi dress in Citrus/Shadow. Tara wears Rachel Gilbert SS11 Cruise Collection in Lime.

Whether you require styling for a special occassion, a personal shopping session, wedding, a corporate makeover or perhaps you need to clean out your wardrobe? I am able to provide a range of services tailored to you.

Fashion-conscious from a very young age, it was my friends and co-workers asking for style advice and help to revamp their wardrobes which launched my passion for fashion styling early.
